Taunt by Eve Dangerfield

Description

Daniel Schwartz never meant to uncover the apocalypse, unfortunately for her that’s exactly what happened. Yet while it’s clear to the Kiwi hacktivist what she should do; cover it back up and get completely smashed, the rest of the world doesn’t agree. A shady corporation places her in a beachside prison where they promise to hold her until she agrees to talk. Dani would be pretty annoyed if she weren't:
a) Biologically incapable of being annoyed
b) Very intrigued by the men hired to guard her
c) Extremely hungover
John, Colt, and Seb have poured a lot of time and money into their private security business the last thing they need is to waste six weeks babysitting a hyperactive hippie. Sadly they’ve signed a dubious but watertight contract. Each of the three men finds himself drawn to the weird, pop-obsessed Daniel and she to them. As they become entangled in each other’s lives Daniel is forced to answer some big questions such as; how can you escape when there’s nowhere safe to go? How can a commitmentphobe fall for not one, but three different men? And, most importantly, should New Zealanders kick people who call them Hobbits? (Yes.)
Taunt is a heart-stopping erotic thriller; chock full of science, nail-biting suspense, period jokes and good old fashioned lust.

My Interview with Author Monika De Giorgi

  1. When did you first realize you wanted to become a Writer/author?
I don’t really know. From early childhood on I was fascinated by stories. Be it the fairytales told and read to me before bedtime or the books my mum was reading. I really started writing, when I was about twelve.

  1. Where do you get your ideas for your book?
Everywhere. The world around me, people, smells, songs. Listening to people, talking walks, dreaming. Anything can become a story.

  1. What kind of things do you enjoy when not writing?
My favorite hobby is adult coloring. I love pencils and adult coloring books. Especially fantasy themed books. Before going to bed I start an audio book, sharpen my pencil and start to color. Nothing is as relaxing.
But I also like to read or watch a good TV-Series or movie now and then.

  1. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
If you count only published books it’s five so far. Edens Asche, Edens Asche – Engel der Rosen, Schmerz-Blut-Liebe, Eerie Spook and Where I’ll Be Waiting. But Where I’ll Be Waiting is the only one that’s published in English so far and it’s also my favorite. It’s a story that sometimes really made me work to tell it and I loved every second of it.

  1. Do you have any suggestions to help others who have a passion for writing?
While writing: Whatever someone tells you – there is no “right” way, to tell a story. The story tells you, how it wants to be told. Do whatever works best for you. While editing: Listen to you editor. J

  1. What do you think makes a great story?
When it talks to you. Draws you in, makes you feel with the characters. When you want to know, how it goes on, but also don’t want it to end.

  1. Which Writer/Authors inspire you?
Every writer who can tell me a story, like I mentioned under Q6. But the writers that inspired me first were Anne Rice and Laurell K. Hamilton.

  1. What are you working on at the moment?(optional)
An urban fantasy novel and a fantasy novel I want to publish in 2017, 2018 respectively. More I won’t tell you. ;)

  1. What genre are your books?
I write M/M-Romance. The subgenre is usually fantasy or urban fantasy.

  1. What drew you to the genre you write?
Damian, the character of my first published book. I never decided he was bisexual. He told me so.

  1. Which Actor/Actress would you like to see portraying the lead character from your most recent book?(any book you like)
For Jesse I’d like a younger Jonathan Rhys-Myers or Jensen Ackles. (As they were in their mid-20ies.) But I’d still take them for the movie now. Bring it on. Both come close to his looks and really could get his inner demons on the screen. For Cam I need a time machine so I can get Franco Nero, even if Cam’s eyes aren’t blue -  or he needs to be casted for me. A younger Henry Cavil would work – I watched to whole seasons of The Tudors a while ago.

  1. Do you write full-time or part-time?
Part Time.

  1. What is the hardest thing about writing?
Getting in the right mind for it, after a day of work.

  1. Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block?
Do what makes you feel good. The rest will come. Don’t stress yourself out. It only does that: Stress you.

  1. Do you read much, and if so who are your favorite Authors or genres?
I commute to and from work over an hour one way. So yes. I usually read or write. I love M/M-Romance and Historical Novels especially. My favorite authors are Abigail Roux, Philippa Gregory and so many more.

  1. Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

  1. How can Readers discover more about you and your work?(please provide proper links)

Please drop me a line any time. I always love to hear from readers or people interested in my stories J

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview 😊
Thank you J

My Interview with Author Ann Grech

1.     When did you first realize you wanted to become a Writer/author?

As a kid I was always obsessed with becoming an author. My cousin and I had this crazy plan to design a bank and a jail (he wanted to be an architect), have my younger brother rob it, me write a best-selling novel about it and, if my brother was caught, he’d escape (Prison Break style) and we’d all go live on a tropical island somewhere. Needless to say it didn’t happen ;-) Eventually the voices won out and the book got written (still no robbery though) and I haven’t stopped since.

2.     Where do you get your ideas for your book?
Whiteout came from standing on a mountain in New Zealand. The kids were throwing snowballs at each other with my hubby, and I was enjoying the view. As crazy/corny as it sounds, a gust of wind blew and on it the words were delivered… only joking, but seriously it was kinda like that. The gust of wind did come and there might have been a ridiculously hot alpine rescuer involved too. Next minute, I’m frantically plotting out a story and getting pummelled by snowballs. Totally rude!

3.     What kind of things do you enjoy when not writing?
Glass of wine, a good book and time down the beach or at the pool.

4.     How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I’ve written nine novel-length books – holy crap, that’s a lot! Ink’d (MF), Whiteout (MM) and White Noise (MM) have been published. I’ve got three more planned for this year. The other three won’t be re-released for some time yet, but I’ll get them out eventually. I’ve also written three novella-length stories – One night in Daytona (MF), A Christmas Wish Come True (MF) and The Gift (FMMM) which is a freebie for my newsletter subscribers.

Of those, my favourite characters are definitely Reef and Ford from Whiteout and White Noise. They’re everything I love about characters – strong yet vulnerable, open to new experiences, loving, stubborn, protective, fun, you name it. I couldn’t tell you which of their three books is my favourite though – it’s literally like asking which of my kids I like best (except I choose the dog most of the time ;-) ). If I’m picking favourites though, Declan and Ollie from A Christmas Wish Come True are close runners up. I adore those guys too and I can’t wait to turn the short story into a full-length novel.

Under my pen name, Olive Hiscock, I’ve published seven short stories (one series is a novel-length collection). They’re all MM+ erotica.

5.     Do you have any suggestions to help others who have a passion for writing?
I could write about the benefits of a great critique partner (and mine is the best), editors who say it like it is and who know what they’re doing (again, mine rock), and cover artists to do all the pretty things, but I think it’s even more than that. Social media is such a crazy-big part of our world. Some people are trolls. Don’t be like that. If you don’t have anything nice to say, keep your bloody mouth shut. Don’t be any-phobic. You’ll suck. Oh, and as a secondary point, your readers probably won’t be your readers anymore. You aren’t in competition with anyone except yourself. Help others out because it’s the nice thing to do. And chances are they have, or will, help you in return more than you ever expected. And most importantly, show the bloggers some love. What they do is mostly done for free for the love of books. They don’t owe you anything. They’re doing you a favour. Say thank you. Please!

6.     What do you think makes a great story?
I read predominantly erotic romance, so for me it’s the storyline behind the sex. If the story stands on the sex alone, I get bored. Sure, there have to be sexy scenes – it doesn’t need to be sex itself, often the build up to that point is just as hot – but there has to be a story. It’s also got to be believable – I love real life characters (if you haven’t gathered, I don’t read anything paranormal).

7.     Which Writer/Authors inspire you?
*kicks back and laughs* It’ll take me a year to write down all the authors who inspire me. I adore Kindle Alexander, N.R. Walker, Riley Hart, Ella Frank, Sloan Johnston, Jayne Rylon… I know I’m forgetting a bunch but I can’t think of any more off the top of my head. I love the way their stories are put together and they’re all such great ladies – they inspire me.

8.     What are you working on at the moment?(optional)
Ooooh, so much goodness! Whitewash (MM), the final book in my Unexpected series, is in edits at the moment. That will, hopefully, be released in the next couple of months. Now that it’s nearly finished, I’m starting to rework two other novels which I have in train too. They’ll be released later this year (one is a MMF and the other is FMMF).

9.     What genre are your books?
Contemporary romance. I’d classify myself as a gay and bisexual genre writer, but I do have some MF stories too.

10.                        What drew you to the genre you write?
See my answer on who inspires me – with books like those written by my fave authors, I couldn’t help but want to be like them when I grew up. So I gave it a go and loved it. Now, I couldn’t imagine writing anything but that.

11.                        Which Actor/Actress would you like to see portraying the lead character from your most recent book?(any book you like)
Ryan Reynolds as Reef and Bradley Cooper or maybe even Ben Affleck as Ford, mainly because they’re on my to do list… oops I mean my bucket list… (don’t show hubby this - actually scrap that, he knows) my wish list, maybe… Anyway, I love them.

12.                        Do you write full-time or part-time?
Part-time, between working, studying (I just finished my PhD), looking after a family and, at the moment, building a house. My life’s not crazy at all! *insert nut job lady here*

13.                        What is the hardest thing about writing?
For me the most painful thing is promotion. The craft itself, is something I always enjoy, and seeing my baby go from an idea percolating in my head to a fully-fledged book is freaking cool.

14.                        Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block?
I put the story down and do something that inspires me, or more likely, something that I’m really behind in and should have done weeks ago (like upload a paperback to Createspace which should have been done months ago!). Then I try again. If nothing, then I extend the break. Plotting always helps me too.

15.                        Do you read much, and if so who are your favorite Authors or genres?
About a book a week mainly in MM contemporary romance. All of the ladies listed above are my go to’s and auto-buys so between them, I usually have something to read!

16.                        Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
Um?

17.                        How can Readers discover more about you and your work?(please provide proper links)

I’m kind of everywhere, but your best bet is Facebook. Here are my links:

My Interview with Author Alexandrea Weis

  1. When did you first realize you wanted to become a Writer/author? I think it started when I was eight. I enjoyed writing then, but the thought of a career in writing never took hold until later in life. After I had pursued a career in nursing, I wanted to pursue the stories in my head.

  1. Where do you get your ideas for your book? Everywhere and anywhere. They come to me at any time.

  1. What kind of things do you enjoy when not writing? Animals. I am a permitted wildlife rehabber with the La. Wildlife and Fisheries. I rescue orphaned and injured wildlife and return them to the wild. That, and I have a house filled with fur babies. So most of my time away from writing is taking up by animals.

  1. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? I have written over 45 books, and have published 24. I think my favorite is still my first, To My Senses. Book 1 in the Nicci Beauvoir thriller romance series. It still touches my heart.

  1. Do you have any suggestions to help others who have a passion for writing? Just write. I think of creativity as a muscle, you have to use it to get stronger. Just write and keep writing. It takes time to find your voice. Never give up.

  1. What do you think makes a great story? Characters. You have to believe the people in the story are real to relate to them. When you accept the characters the story grabs hold.

  1. Which Writer/Authors inspire you? There are many. Hemingway, Charles Dickens, Mary Renault, Ian Fleming.

  1. What are you working on at the moment? A YA thriller called Girl in the River coming later this year from Vesuvian Books. It is about a golden boy gone bad, and the women he hurts get their revenge.

  1. What genre are your books? Paranormal, Erotic romance, and a blend of both.

  1. What drew you to the genre you write? I’m from New Orleans. Paranormal is in my blood, and I grew up in the French Quarter so all things odd and spooky are like home to me.

  1. Which Actor/Actress would you like to see portraying the lead character from your most recent book? I think I would have to wait for the adaptation either screenplay or teleplay to make that decision. Every story is different.

  1. Do you write full-time or part-time? Full time. 7 days a week, and holidays.

  1. What is the hardest thing about writing? Sitting down and doing the work. There are times it is like walking on air, and times it is like trudging through the mud.

  1. Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block? Get away from the computer. I drive and clear my head.

  1. Do you read much, and if so who are your favorite Authors or genres? I don’t have a lot of time for reading, but when I do it is usually history books. I love history.

  1. Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

  1. How can Readers discovery more about you and your work:

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview

My Interview with Author J.N. Sheats

1.     When did you first realize you wanted to become a Writer/author?

8th grade, I woke up with an amazing idea for a character and thought it would make a great book. From that moment on I wanted to be a writer.

2.     Where do you get your ideas for your book?

All over the place. A person, an object, something someone says it's a random process. Usually I get ideas by wondering what two crazy ideas together would look like, or it starts off with a character that I want to know more about.

3.     What kind of things do you enjoy when not writing?

I draw and design, cook, garden, play with my little devil cats.

4.     How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have written and published five books so far with a sixth coming soon. My favorite is Lineage, my most currently release, but the Opsona series will always have a special place in my heart.

5.     Do you have any suggestions to help others who have a passion for writing?

Just do what you want. I see a lot of authors taking too much from the opinions of their beta readers, or writing to please their readers. They also worry what people are going to think about this ending, or if their character does that. Screw that, do what you want and if it makes you uncomfortable or unsure, do it! That's how we grow.

6.     What do you think makes a great story?

Honesty, if you write honestly then it will always be a good book. Especially if you let your characters be who they are. No sugar coating, or fitting into this genre or that.

7.     Which Writer/Authors inspire you?

I don't have anyone that inspires me, but I do admire a great deal of my fellow authors. But that's true of any writer, even the unpublished because it takes a great deal of courage to write. No matter how much fantasy you pour into a book/story, there is always a hint of personal truth. That takes courage.

8.     What are you working on at the moment?(optional)

Currently I'm working on a dark romance called A-Jax, that I hope to have out the beginning of February.

9.     What genre are your books?

I typically write paranormal/dark fantasy, but I'm branching off into dark romance.

10.                        What drew you to the genre you write?

I love things that go bump in the night, there is something very alluring to the dark and the creatures that live in it. Plus I get to write about vampires. ;)

11.                        Which Actor/Actress would you like to see portraying the lead character from your most recent book?(any book you like)

Hmmmm, that's hard. Lucy Hale, she would be perfect for Joey Morris.

12.                        Do you write full-time or part-time?

I currently write part-time because I do design work for other authors, but I'm hoping to change that in 2017.

13.                        What is the hardest thing about writing?

My anxiety. That little bastard never lets me rest, but it gets really bad when I want to write. It sometimes comes down to a panic-attack before I can actually start writing.

14.                        Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block?

Do something insane, in the story of course. When I'm stuck I throw something at my characters from left-field. I might never use it in the story, but it brings some new ideas to the table.

15.                        Do you read much, and if so who are your favorite Authors or genres?

I don't get to read as much as I would like, but yes I do read. I read just about anything you put in front of me, though I actually love technical books. I also read a lot of romance which is funny because my own books have romantic elements but focus more on the action and battles.

16.                        Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

Nope, you're good. :)

17.                        How can Readers discovery more about you and your work?(please provide proper links)

Facebook is the best place to find me, but I post just as much on my blog.

Oh, don't forget my newsletter! Starting the end of January I will be sending out a special newsletter with a fantasy series, Divine Legacy. Each month a new piece of the story comes out.

I'm also on Patreon where my supporters get first looks, gifts, and more when they sign up to support me.
